Individual Coaching

Coaching

Competence and confidence in presentation skills is important in conveying credibility and impacting your influencing powers. Coaching allows for an intense opportunity to work on your skill set and make improvements. Individual coaching is an intense, customized, one-on-one opportunity to improve your presentation skills.

Typical Topics:

  • Dynamic Delivery: The value of what you say is determined by how you say it. Learn proven techniques on how to be a more dynamic and confident speaker, the kind audiences want to listen to, through your use of energy, vocals, eye communication, posture.
  • Compelling Content: Brilliant and creative content is meaningless if it’s difficult to follow or hard to understand. Discover how to effectively organize your content so that it’s concise and easy to understand, and learn how to “humanize” it to make it interesting and memorable.

Other topics can be covered, including effective use of PowerPoint, Media/Q&A, Persuasive Speaking.

The Process

In advance of the coaching, I provide you with a 2-hour audio CD and comprehensive notebook that covers the basics of effective presentations. By reviewing these before we get together, you receive a good grounding in presentation techniques, and we can devote your session to improving your skills. Come prepared with a specific presentation, and you will be videotaped (on a DVD disk that’s yours to keep) and will receive extensive critiquing and feedback from me.

Length of sessions varies, depending on your needs. Minimum is one two-hour session. It may be followed up by another session a week or so later. Sessions involve extensive videotaping and instructor critiquing. Another takeaway option is a copy of my book, Stand Out When You Stand Up—An A to Z Guide to Powerful Presentations.

This intense, customized process focuses on your strengths and challenges and provides specific tips to help increase your power and presence in front of an audience. You take away not only the tangible items of the CD, DVD, and notebook (and Stand Out book if you choose) for your future reference, but the intangible benefits of knowing how to be a stronger, more compelling speaker.
